Operation Solomon

In the 1990’s a community of Jews faced a life and death crisis in war-torn Ethiopia. Even though they had lived far from Israel for centuries, they still held onto their history and faith. But now they needed help.

In 1991, Israel launched the daring Operation Solomon.

In a tense 36‑hour mission, Israeli airplanes secretly flooded the skies over Ethiopia. In one of the biggest and fastest rescue airlifts in history, they brought more than 14,000 Ethiopian Jews home to safety in Israel.

The State of Israel stands as a place of refuge and return–committed to protecting Jewish people everywhere and ensuring that any Jew can come home and become a citizen.

Amos 9:13-15  “I will plant them upon their soil, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them —says the LORD your God."

Isaiah 66:8  “Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment?”
